BBQ Country Six Bean Soup

Skip the can of baked beans and try Cassie’s Country Cupboard BBQ Country Six bean Soup. It’s sure to be a hit at your next party.


  • 1 package Country Six Bean Soup Mix
  • 1# ground beef (Get Fresh Stay Fresh)
  • 1/4# diced bacon (CountrySide Heritage Swine LLC)
  • 1 c. diced onion (produce vendor)
  • 1 c. diced green pepper (produce vendor)
  • 4 c. broth (any flavor)
  • 1 T. Vinegar*
  • 1 T. mustard* (O’Sister)
  • 2 T. molasses or maple syrup (Menchhofer Maple Syrup)*
  • 1/2 c. ketchup*
    *or replace these ingredients with 2/3 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce


Brown together the beef, bacon and vegetables. Drain off grease. In a slow cooker, combine the broth and soup mix. Stir and add in beef, bacon and veggies. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on LOW for 5-6 hours or until beans are tender. Once uncovered, the sauce will thicken as it stands. Remove bay leaves before serving.
